The legendary, Grammy Award-winning musician Duane Eddy will stop off at Frome Cheese and Grain in Somerset as part of a small UK tour this year.

After a lifetime of songwriting and performing, guitarist Duane Eddy is set to return to the UK. This man’s credentials speak for themselves – he is a Grammy Award winner, an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has had 32 charting singles and over 100 million record sales and in 1960, was voted to depose Elvis Presley as NME’s World’s Number One Musical Personality.

Initially working his way through the Arizona clubs and honky tonks in the 1950’s, Duane developed his own original guitar style, one defined by the iconic low-string ‘twang’. This unmistakable and pervasive sonic creation, manifested in hit singles such as ‘Rebel Rouser’, ‘Peter Gun’, and ‘Because They’re Young’, was an innovation in music and marked the impressive dawn of his illustrious career.

Eddy, 73, wowed us with his guitar playing at the JD Birthday celebration with Jarvis Cocker and Richard Hawley a couple of years back and now he’s back and we can tell you this is not one to miss!

Tickets are now on sale for the gig at Frome Cheese and Grain, which starts at 8pm on Thursday May 24. To buy visit www.seetickets.com or call the Box Office on 01373 455420.
