Ed Sheeran has confirmed he will play an exclusive Bristol gig at The Fleece on May 22 in support of a charity for vulnerable women.

Ed, who shot to fame when his debut single ‘The A Team’ went straight to number 3 in the UK chart last summer, is offering tickets to anyone who raises £125 or more for Charity One25 – a Bristol-based organisation which reaches out to street sex workers. The BRIT-nominated artist explained his reason for supporting the cause: “It’s good to show insight that these people are real people with real emotions and they deserve the same charity work as anyone else.”

The intimate concert at The Fleece on May 22, which also includes support from Nizlopi, is currently the only way to see Ed Sheeran in Bristol and his UK tour is sold out around many major venues. Louise Willott, who is organising the event, said: “The Fleece is quite a small venue – it only holds about four hundred, which makes it extra exciting as it’s really intimate and Ed’s not playing those size venues anymore.”

Tickets are only available to those who take part in the charity’s ‘Give it up for One25′ campaign by giving something up for 125 hours and hitting the £125 fundraising mark.

Anyone interested in taking part can do so before the campaign ends on March 8. Full details and a sign-up form can be found at the Charity One25 blog.
