The seventh Sunrise Celebration, which takes place at Gilcombe Farm, South Somerset, from June 21-24, will be returning featuring an inspiring mix of the very best in dub, world, ska, electronica, dub-step, trance, breaks, reggae, folk, Balkan beats and just simply good tunes from rising stars, established favourites and surprise collaborations.
Sunrise 2012 is to be headlined this year by epic super group The Imagined Village, one of the most exciting and unusual collaborations of the last decade. The all star lineup features; Waterson Carthy legends Martin and his daughter Eliza Carthy, Simon Emmerson and Johnny Kalsi of Afrocelt Soundsystem and Transglobal Underground, and Andy Gangadeen and Simon Richmond of cult group The Bays and Jackie Oates, winner of BBC Folk Award for best newcomer.
Other acts confirmed include The Egg, Mungo’s Hifi ft. Soom T & Mr. Williamz, Gaudi, Master Blasters, Benji Vaughan, Banco De Gaia and The Destroyers. With more to be announced. Tickets £115 available from www.sunrisecelebration.com
