Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Prestbury Hills on Cheltenham Racecourse at the height of summertime, a plethora of entertainment is presented to festival-goers from music, literature and spoken-word, visual and performing arts, comedy and theatre. What makes Greenbelt unique from any other festival is that each of these elements is injected with honesty and tolerance, values that give rise to a culturally-engaged and extraordinary experience.
Highlights of this year announced so far include Mercury Music Prize winner Speech Debelle, astounding live-performers Bellowhead, audience favourite Bruce Cockburn, and folk supergroup The Imagined Village, resulting in a diverse and electrifying music offering. A stimulating speaker programme also adds to the agenda consisting of esteemed professors, philosophers and influential journalists, such as Giles Fraser fresh from his public resignation from St Pauls, Editor of the New Humanist, Casper Melville and British political campaigner Casper Melville. Performing arts stars include the breathtaking OperaUpClose presenting their sell-out show La Boheme, plus comedy genius Robin Ince and children’s comedian and magician Tom Elliot.
