The quiet fishing village of Lyme Regis in Dorset will see the return of Red Bull Harbour Reach 2012 – the most progressive wakeboarding contest in the UK.

Lyme Regis Harbour is set in the heart of the Jurassic coast and will play the perfect host to the event and the crowds will be able to get within metres of the wakeboarding action from 6.30pm until 9pm on July 21, 2012. Industry Wakeparks will be building and installing a bespoke cable ridden ‘wakepark’ especially designed for the harbour which will see the riders clearing the Grade 1 listed harbour wall whilst performing tricks on a number of custom built features, including the first Quarter Pipe ever to be seen in UK competition.

Connor Jones (UK) has gained the only wildcard entry spot into the event after proving himself by winning the Mystic Big Air Competition at Wakestock. He will join 14 of the world’s best wakeboarders who will be challenged to jump higher and longer over the huge harbour wall. Red Bull athlete JD Webb is flying over from America to compete in the event and said, “I am stoked to be able to attend Red Bull Harbour Reach this year, the course looks insane and is definitely going to push my ability…the wall looks huge!”

In between the competition spectators will be able to see a jaw dropping display from the Red Bull Matadors aerobatic team. Pilots Paul Bonhomme and Steve Jones will fly their planes in a variety of formation patterns, wowing the crowd at speeds of up to 400mph.

The local community will also have a chance to take part in taster sessions with the professional athletes which are being held on Sunday morning in the harbour. More information at www.redbull.co.uk/harbourreach
