SEVEN INJURED AS BARONESS TOUR BUS CRASHES NEAR BATH
US rockers Baroness have been involved in a serious crash near Bath, as their tour bus veered off the road and ended up in a ditch.
The crash occured at Brass Knocker Hill at around 11.30am this morning. Emergency services attended and confirmed that two people were taken to Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital with serious injuries and five people to Bath’s Royal United Hospital with minor injuries. Another two passengers escaped unharmed.
It was later revealed that the bus involved was the Baroness tour bus. Baroness, originally from Savannah, Georgia, are currently touring the UK and were due to play Southampton’s Talking Heads tonight, following a gig at Bristol’s Fleece last night.
Portishead’s Geoff Barrow sent well wishes to the group vis his Twitter account – saying: ‘mine and invada’s thoughts go out to Baroness and crew…hope for a speedy recovery.’ And The Fleece wrote: ‘Our hearts go out to @YourBaroness after their dreadful crash this morning. Such a nice buch of guys too. Wishing you all a speedy recovery.’
The road was closed for most of the day as police carried out investigations. Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call us on 101.
