GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2013 SELLS OUT IN RECORD TIME
Hundreds of thousands of people spend Sunday morning hitting refresh on their computers and redial on their phones in a bid to secure tickets to Glastonbury Festival 2013 – and after just one hour and 40 minutes, the legendary event sold out.
The massive Somerset festival took a break this year, but its clear that it was missed with this sell out time – proving a record for the world-famous festival, which remains tight-lipped about the musical line-up.
Twitter and Facebook was rife with happy folk exclaiming they’d secured their £200 a pop tickets as well as those disappointed punters who’d missed out on bagging one of the spots at the 90,000 strong festival, which takes place on June 26 – 30, 2013.
A spokesman for Glastonbury Festival said: “We would like to say an enormous thanks to everyone who managed to buy a ticket – but we’d also like to extend our sincere apologies to the many thousands who missed out. We’re genuinely humbled by the sheer number of people who would like to come to the Festival, and we dearly wish we could have you all along. Sadly, that just isn’t possible, which means a significant number of people have missed out. Tickets were being sold throughout the morning – but demand simply outstripped supply.”
If you did miss out – all is not lost, as is likely to be a resale of returned tickets in the spring and there is also a wealth of volunteering opportunities worth checking out as well as the odd local ticket offer. Failing that, there’s always the comprehensive TV coverage! Not the same, we know, but worth a look.
