OUT OF HAND FLYER PACK MIX 001: MODIFY PERSPECTIVE
This month’s Out of Hand Flyer Pack Mix comes from Glastonbury born producer, DJ and promoter Sam Percival aka Modify Perspective.
Sam is the co-creator of ‘Liquifyah’, one of Bristol’s premier up-and-coming drum & bass nights. Originating in Glastonbury (March 2012) the events have since moved to Bristol and now feature regularly at Basement 45 with new venues on the horizon. More recently, Sam has also become responsible for running Basement 45’s in-house monthly drum & bass night ‘Drum & Basement’.
It’s clear that Sam’s passion is deep set within liquid drum & bass but he also reserves a keen interest in neurofunk and dark, techy d&b along with a liberal sprinkling of glitch hop, dubstep, breaks and electro – “As much as I like the emotion and atmosphere of liquid, I do like to go in hard sometimes! (Don’t we all!)”.
“I started mixing way back when I was 11 years old but then my attention temporarily turned towards playing the drums where I proceeded to spend the majority of my teens playing the drums and bass guitar in bands until I resumed producing again 2 years ago”.
“Ultimately, I would like Modify Perspective to be a live outfit incorporating live instruments and guest vocalists. If any dedicated and open-minded musicians are reading this and like the sound of it, then please get in touch, I wanna hear from ya!”
