BRISTOL FILM FESTIVAL HORRORS
With Halloween right around the corner you can join in the Bristol Film Festival’s as they bring you a weekend of horror films like no other from 20-30 October . So whether you love to be scared silly or prefer a more comical horror film, the film festival has a showing for you.
The festival is showing Ghostbusters and Cocktails at the Old Fire Station on 20 October, before taking over the Redcliffe caves from 28-30 Oct for ‘Horror in the Caves’ with films such Nightmare on Elm Street and comedy horror Shaun of the Dead – but be warned, live actors will be bringing the horror story to life around you…
Elsewhere, the festival brings you another drink along comedy, a vampire mockumentary: ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ set in the Avery Wine Cellars on 28 Oct. “With an atmospheric background and Sauvignon Blanc so fresh it’ll make the hair on the back of your neck stand up! Comedy/horror and wine in our historic vaulted cellars is the ultimate combination for a great evening”, says Frank Mason, Averys’ Events Manager.
Following on the theme of unusual venues, Bristol Cathedral is the setting on 29 Oct with the screening of the Richard Burton paranormal thriller The Medusa Touch. Bathed in ambient candlelight, this cult classic actually features scenes filmed in the Cathedral itself adding to thrill and making this a unique opportunity to watch the movie in the location it was filmed in.
