lr090711-1On Saturday 11 July, LOVE RIOT, arguably the South West’s loosest club night, will be taking over St.Ives’ stylishly relaunched club Isobar Is Dead, where they’ll be playing host to a very special guest – the international house superstar Danny Rampling, who will be making an ultra rare appearance in Cornwall, alongside Love Riot’s very own resident and Cornish superstar house DJ Ry Spenceley playing rafter swinging electro house, while downstairs will be local talents Dave Spenceley and Will Vegas of Sir Vinyl of the Fattest dishing out the more laidback beats.

Known as the godfather of UK house, Rampling’s fame and notoriety originated from the late 80s when he kickstarted the house explosion in the UK with his seminal club night Shoom.  The now legendary night is where many of the other world renowned DJ’s made their name, including a certain Carl Cox.  Rampling totally changed the scene as our country knew it and has since gone on to be one of the most sought after and successful house DJs in the world.

His CV is packed full of worldwide residencies, he’s racked up eight years with Radio 1 with his ultra popular Love Groove Dance Party and was an integral component in the popularity of Kiss FM before that.

Recent years have seen Danny take a step back from DJing in semi retirement to concentrate on other ventures. Now only playing a handful of carefully selected gigs, it says a lot about the popularity of Love Riot, and the notorious partying nature of the Cornish.

Love Riot’s Ry Spenceley says, “We’ve thrown a lot of great parties over the years, but I’m particularly excited about this one. It’ll be a great honour to play alongside Danny. He pretty much started the whole club scene off in the UK. The guy is a real live living legend”

Set right in the centre of picturesque St Ives, ‘Isobar Is Dead’ has recently undergone a complete makeover and relaunch, turning it into Cornwall’s club to party at this summer.  Notorious for the finest dance floor debauchery and bar side athletics around, Love Riot have a strong reputation amongst party goers and DJs alike, so its best to make sure you’ve got your tickets for this event.
