ROCK, RALLY AND ROLL FOR CHARITY

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

This Friday, the Barn Nightclub in Penzance will play host to the most eclectic night it may have ever hosted.  Two Cornish teams entering this year’s 10,000 mile long Mongol Rally have put aside their competitive spirit to host a joint send-off extravaganza in an effort to raise extra funding for their local charities. The Penzance Pirates team consisting of Robert Eddy, Paul Brown and their Ford Fiesta are supporting the Sennen Ward of Trelisk Hospital while Team “You Khan Not Be Serious” (Dan Pryor, Chris Clark and Andrew Guest), in their Vivid Green Vauhall Agila, are supporting Helston based charity, Shelterbox.

The event promises a mix of live music from The Panicstuck (who are set to play Boardmasters in Newquay next month) and Penzance legends, i-Pony as well as late DJ sets from Deejay Velso, Evil Genius and Leroy who are all contributing to the rock aspect of the night.  The teams will be there with the ridiculous cars that will take them on their 10,000 mile epic from Land’s End to Mongolia over the course of a month (there’s the rally bit).  The roll comes from the Oggy Oggy Pasty Company who are generously donating enough sausage rolls to feed everyone who attends!  The teams have also managed to convince two official Playboy Bunnies to make an appearance on the night and help them out with the fundraising.

The teams will be leaving Land’s End the following week on 17 July at 12PM and will really appreciate your support.

The Rock, Rally and Roll event starts at 9PM at the Barn Nightclub, Penzance and is open to all ages, alcohol will only be served to over 18’s with ID.  Entry is £5 all night with the full proceeds being split between the two local charities.  For more information see YKNBS.com/rockrallyandroll
