EXETER PICTUREHOUSE RAISING MONEY FOR AFRICAN WATER CHARITY
The Exeter Picturehouse is planning a special fund raising weekend on the August Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August) to help raise money for Plan, the cinema’s African water charity. Staff of the Exeter Picturehouse, at 51 Bartholomew St in Exeter will be helping to raise money for the water charity project to provide boreholes to deprived communities in Niger in West Africa.
A number of events are planned for the weekend including a mammoth Live Music event from 7pm on the Saturday, with a host of local acts performing including Lush, Benjamin Akira Tallamy, Duncan Alex, Chris Woods and Teahorse all so far confirmed. All the musicians are providing their services free of charge and there is no entry fee to the event but please give generously to the Plan charity collections that will be taking place during the evening.
This will be followed by a charity film quiz at 8pm on Sunday when dozens of pieces of rare film merchandise will be up for grabs as prizes, including exclusive, otherwise unavailable merchandise for Terminator Salvation and other recent film releases. All the film quiz entry money will go towards Plan. Please support these events generously and consider donating any of your loose change that weekend to the Picturehouse’s water charity. Look out for other fun events happening at the cinema over the Bank Holiday weekend including staff in fancy dress.
