King of Paint Bristol proudly presents a show curated by Sepr; The Magic Number – with New works from Dilk, Base 23 and Sepr.

Base 23
The RAL-Galaxia and their life forms were discovered by aerosol scientist BASE23 three and a half years ago after doing research in the laboratories for about 17,5 years in the aerosol universe. Since then the color machines and animals have landed on planet earth to make our daily environment more colorful. You can find them in the streets, abandoned areas and hall of fames around the globe. BASE23 lives and works in Berlin and has exhibited in Barcelona, London, Melbourne, Paris, Berlin and several German cities. BASE23 started with graffiti in 1989 and went on to study, majoring in graphic design/typography.

Sepr
Sepr really needs no intro to anyone who has been to Bristol. His works can be seen throughout the city and his style and humour know no limits. They said: “I have a hunger for something that has no real physical purpose; its just expression I guess and wanting to do something and maybe not knowing why. When people ask me why I’ve painted something, I dont really have an answer- and I like that. There’s just a thirst for it. Thats what stops us from just surviving or just being alive.

Dilk
At the end of 1986, I found myself drawn into the world of Graffiti, which was then a new form of art that hit the UK from America, and would effect me for the rest of my life. Since then, Graffiti has taken me around the world in pursuit of my passion, and I have been involved in numerous graffiti inspired events, whether promoting my own work or judging Graffiti competitions worldwide. In 2002, I opened ‘Coverage’ in Nottingham, one of the first graffiti art store in England. Until November 2008, I went to open the UK’s first and only Montana Colors store in Hockley, supplying the best for the city.

Show opens Friday 29 June at 7pm sharp and goes on til 10pm. Gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10am – 6pm. For more info about this and other upcoming shows please email info@kopaint.com
