REVIEW: FULL HOUSE FOR BROKEN’S FIRST GIG
More than 100 people crammed into Penzance’s Studio Bar on Saturday night to be part of Broken’s debut gig, filling the venue to capacity by 11:30pm. The five piece rock and metal band kicked off their set at 10:15 and finished a hot and sweaty 90 minutes later. As well as a packing their set full of their own songs, the band also gave the metal fans something to remember with a few classics from Motörhead, Iron Maiden and Metallica to round off the set.
Lead vocalist and Broken’s front man Gwil Jones said: “The place was packed to the rafters and there was sweat dripping off the walls. For our first gig it was perfect. It was great to see so many people enjoying the music. “We’re all looking forward to our next gig on Mazey Day and we’re sure we’ll be seeing a few familiar faces at the Bongo Hall. We’re so glad to be out there now, playing in front of people. This is just the start of it, Broken are ready to rock.” Nigel Balloch, Manager at The Studio Bar said: “Broken played an awesome set, the place was really buzzing from the moment they started playing. I’ve never seen the place so busy for a debut gig, these guys are bringing something new and exciting the music scene and I’m looking forward to welcoming them back again soon.”
The band are booked on the spot to play Party in the Park at Trereife Park, Penzance on 29 August.
