THE BARN CLUB SET FOR A NEW DAWN FOLLOWING £750,000 REFURBISHMENT
The Barn Club in Penzance is set to re-open at the end of the month following a £750,000 investment. The club closed its doors in July last year but will reopen again on Saturday March 26th following a six month refurbishment by one of the UK’s leading club developers. Audrey and John Goodhew, who have owned The Barn Club since 1973, decided to make the major investment after leasing the Club to another company for the past four years.
When we spoke to them last week, the goal they said, is to create a brand new, sophisticated and luxurious club for Cornwall. The interior has been completely gutted to make way for state of the art lighting and sound systems, a luxurious interior including boothed seating throughout, three distinctive areas and VIP tables that can be pre-booked with waitress services.
“When we returned after 4 years away, it was clear that there was only one course of action – and that was to create a completely brand new Barn Club that would put the venue back on the map with the emphasis on style.
“Every single element of the new Barn will be brand new, with different and distinctive styles and themes to each area – from the B-Bar, through the main club and on into the chill out room, a state of the art sound and lighting system and a look and feel that is all about quality and style that will be set the Barn Club apart from the other venues in Cornwall,” said John.
“The team working on the new Barn Club have been responsible for creating venues such as the Gatecrasher clubs, have worked with Luminar Leisure which has clubs around the country such as Lava and Ignite and also with Yellowhammer which runs a range of clubs around the UK – we will have three distinct rooms with different styles and themes, two dance floors, 4 bars and will be introducing a host of new features including waitress served VIP tables, a Fast Pay Pass entry system and also a tapas menu. The excitement really is building and the feedback we have been getting ahead of the Barn opening has been really positive,” said John.
“The name may be the same, but that’s where the similarity ends and we simply cannot wait to open the doors of the new Barn Club, ” he added.
For people living outside of Penzance, the club is laying on buses from Redruth, Hayle, and St Ives, running every night the club is open to make it as easy as possible for people to get to The Barn Club.
Other features include:
No queue VIP entry which guests can sign up for in advance
VIP seating areas which can be pre-booked with waitress service included.
The new Barn Club will initially open on Tuesdays (10pm to 2pm), Fridays and Saturdays from 10pm to 3am with the B-Bar (formerly the Star Bar) open from 8pm.
