CELEBRATE RECORD STORE DAY ON SATURDAY 16th APRIL
Independent record shops in the region are flying the flag for the cause and putting on some awesome events for International Record Store Day on April 16. Rise in Bristol has extended it’s opening hours for the day from 9am until 8pm. They’ll have live music throughout the day, including SJ Essau, Malachai Sound System and Schnauser, and have even blagged a fully licenced bar. The Cheltenham branch of Rise is also getting involved in the event and Badlands in Gloucester will host performances from Wille Nile and Danny and the Champs among others. Catapult 100% Vinyl in Cardiff will host live instore sets from Hospital Records brothers in arms Nu:Tone & Logisitics. There will also be a series of local talent Djing in the store’s record basement including Lung and future garage outfit CRST. Catapult also plans to release a limited edition double sided 12inch Catapult Records Vinyl to mark the occasion, which will be distributed across independent record stores nationwide. Other regional stores taking part include Raves From The Grave in Frome, Kanes in Stroud, Blackcat in Taunton, Acorn in Yeovil and Derricks in Swansea.
