One of the UK’s finest hard dance DJ’s, Andy Whitby heads to the North Cornish coast in Sept for his first ever show in Bude on Fri 17 Sept. He is one of the most in demand DJ’s on the circuit right now, with an army of dedicated fans and a loyal following where-ever he goes.

For the uneducated, the self proclaimed ‘Saviour of Hard Dance’ Andy Whitby was originally signed to hard dance label, Nukluez back in the late 90’s, but, as the scene progressed, he stepped out on his own and set up Awsum (www.awsum.co.uk), which is now home to not only his own releases and mix albums, but a further seven Awsum sub-labels and numerous artists. Not only that, Awsum also undertakes various club tours, Ibiza events and four big UK parties every year. “We also have a clothing range, bedroom banners and are developing some mobile ringtones soon too” said Andy, “we might even add an Awsum energy drink, to go with the hard dance music, that would be good”. Seems the Awsum brand domination is well underway.

His fans are amongst the most loyal in the scene, but, along the usual(!) tattoo’s of Andy Whitby adoring peoples bodies and such like, one woman even named her child after him! “I just hope she doesn’t find out where I live!” he said.

When asked what people can expect from his DJ performance, he said, “I work hard to put on a decent show, I don’t have a prepared set list, I just bring a wide selection of good, upfront tunes, and play to the crowd on the dancefloor, giving them what they want, working them to make sure they have a good time – I think that is really important”. Being a promoter himself too, he knows how important it is to have all the elements work for a good night, and the artists performing to entertain the crowd is the final element of promoting an event. “Having a good date, timing and unique venue all help, but ultimately, you need to understand what people want and satisfy them”. All these elements are in place for when he visits Rogue in Bude, Cornwall on Fri 17 Sept, tickets are available now at www.rogueandywhitby.co.uk
