REVIEW: BESTIVAL 2010

Marking the end of this summer’s festival season, Bestival ticks every box that needs to be ticked! It is extremely well organised down to fine detail and I couldn’t say a bad word about it!
A bit of rain gave us a muddy ground to slide around on but that didn’t matter, almost just added to the fun! There was a great vibe with nearly everyone in fancy dress and entertainment everywhere you looked. A great line up meant you were always keeping an eye on your programme to make sure you didn’t miss too much. There are way too many great performances to mention all but to name a few; Ellie Goulding, Flaming Lips, Sub Focus, Roxy Music, Mumford and Sons, High Contrast, Hot Chip, Dub Pistols and The Prodigy all kicked into gear giving memorable performances. A particularly memorable moment was when Prodigy’s head man left the main stage after their performance and went over to the ‘Magic Meadow’ which was behind the main stage. He proceeded to set fire to ‘The Castle The Sky’ creating an eruption of flames lighting up the ‘Magic Meadow’ and the main stage area. Looking spectacular enough, a firework display then came bursting out of the ‘The Castle In The Sky’ leaving jaws wide open and eyes firmly fixed to the sky! It was an amazing moment that everyone in view will remember for a long time to come.
Long live Bestival and roll on the next one! Rob Da Bank and crew, we salute you!
