Exeter indie duo, Jacqui & Anthony are the latest addition to the Pastime Records roster. Their debut 5-track ‘Weekend EP’ is officially released by the Exeter-based independent record label in March. An official EP launch party is taking place in the Exeter Picturehouse bar on Friday 18 March, when Jacqui & Anthony will perform live alongside local acts Falling Trees, Andy Fonda and National Pastime. Free entry from 8.30. Proceeds of EP on Friday will go to Red Nose Day. Please dig deep! Suggested minimum donation is £2. Jacqui & Anthony recorded their EP at Off The Rails Studio, Tipton St John, Devon, during the tail end of 2010, with acclaimed producer Andy Fonda, who has an impressive recording CV, including former June Brides’ singer, Phil Wilson’s well received album, ‘God Bless Jim Kennedy’. Andy Fonda will also be playing a set at the launch party. The five songs deliberately feature a stripped down sound of just guitar and voice to authentically replicate their live performance. For further information and review copies of ‘Weekend EP’ by Jacqui & Anthony contact: Pastime Records, C/O Andy Botterill, 28 Collins Road, Exeter, Devon, EX4 5DY. Tel: 07969 453996. Anthony Smith also plays guitar in Exeter indie band National Pastime, whose recent album ‘Bookmarks’ was awarded four stars by Artrocker magazine in its album reviews in the March 2011 edition.
