Despite being held on the same day as the Michael Jackson tribute concert, thousands still flocked to the Motorpoint arena in Cardiff to catch legendary hip hop artist Snoop Dogg.

Last time Snoop Dogg performed in Cardiff it was at the Cardiff International arena in 2005, now the rapper is back with a ton of crowd pleasing hits to perform too the thousands in attendance.
Doors opened at 6pm and for the fans that arrived earlier they were treated by Radio 1xtra’s Mistajam, Airplane Boys, Yasmin and UK rap star Chipmunk who performed a set that left the audience in the palm of his hand.

After a short set from Chipmunk it was time for the Long Beach rap legend to make his entrance, scenes he had filmed to go with the many skits and interludes from the 1993 classic were being shown to the welsh crowd as Snoop Dogg made his way to the stage.

Deafening screams came from young and old fans who have watched the legendary rap artist grow over the past few decades. Snoop proves a master in the art of crowd pleasing and peppered the set with a catalogue of hits including Next Episode, House Of Pain’s Jump Around and Drop It Like It’s Hot.

After leaving the stage for a short while, Snoop Dogg returned with the Welsh Rugby jersey that created a staggering ovation however, it was the fist pumping David Guetta hit ‘Sweat’ that sent the arena into a frenzy. Despite performing only a short headline set, I don’t think the audience were too bothered having experienced four hours of entertainment and a nice value for money feel from a live show for once.
