DJ MIX : FLYER PACK DJ MIX 004 – JAYDROP
Introducing DJ and producer Jaydrop who presents us with this month’s Out of Hand Flyer Pack Mix. After a three year residency at Instinct, Chippenham, JayDrop is now Bristol based and has played sets at Bedlam, Champion Sound and more recently; Apex, Dirty Note, Honeyglazed, Drop Records and 51°27 with the highlight of his mixing career so far playing in the main room at Fabric, London last year.
Most of Jaydrop’s influences come from early sublow/garage/dubstep such as Horsepower, El-B and DMZ but also artists such as Ramdomer, Ramadanman, Pangea and far too many others to name. As a keen producer, JayDrop has recently had 2 of his tracks featured on Plastician’s Tempa Dubstep Allstars CD and is proud to announce that he also has a forthcoming EP on Plastician’s new label ‘Strangecase Records’.
“Predominantly I make Dubstep, but I have been venturing out of my comfort zone and making a lot of House/Techno/Bass with a side project called ‘Lesley Iver’. I get bored and frustrated sticking to the same BPM so I can be making something at 120BPM one day and the next I’ll be at 165BPM. I don’t know how people can stay at the same tempo the whole time!”
This mix showcases what you can expect to hear from his live performances including some fresh, hot-off-the-press tunes and also some older classics changing from 4×4 to your standard dubstep beat.
