MIXTAPE: FORMANT SHIFT
An avid collector and connoisseur of vinyl records from the age of 16, Formant Shift presents us with a mixtape that provides an insight into his personal collection, a selection of new releases, music by himself and local artists and “some oldies thrown in for good measure”.
“I aim to incorporate all styles and tastes into my music and DJ sets, from jazz to techno and everything in between”
Formant Shift states that the vinyl sound is truly unrivalled and that mixing / selecting requires a considerably greater level of thought and energy than through digital media ie. laptops or CDs. He has a forthcoming vinyl EP due for release this Autumn with further details to be released.
