WIN STANDON CALLING TICKETS
What started as a low-key birthday party has turned into one of the staples of the small festival scene – Standon Calling.
Organisers have secured the likes of British Sea Power, Jeffrey Lewis, The Magic Numbers and These New Puritans for the Hertfordshire festival.
They are joined by the likes of Alice Russell, Efterklang, Metromony, Silver Columns and Liars.
With three stages, numerous tents, secret areas and a nightclub in a cowshed, Standon Calling has developed a reputation for supporting the best new bands and DJs. Offering a platform to emerging artists, while giving festival-goers a chance to see their favourite bands in an intimate, sponsor-free setting, this year sees many hotly tipped and critically acclaimed performers take to the stage.
As day turns to night, the on-site nightclub Camp Alcatraz (complete with 6am licence) swings into action, with legendary party-starters and Fabric residents Filthy Dukes (Kill Em All) and Greco-Roman Soundsystem at the helm, ramping up the entertainment until dawn.
And being one of the smaller festivals, it comes with a much smaller price tag – just £95 a ticket or £40 for a Sunday day ticket.
Standon Calling takes place from 6 – 8 August in Hertfordshire, north of London.
