Since catching them in the Tipi tent at End of the Road Festival back in 2009, we’ve been waiting for Wye Oak to come over from the States and play a gig over here and now they are. The group has secured a support slot with Cold War Kids this February on their Manchester (Feb 20) Glasgow (21) and London dates (22 and 23). So we thought we best share the love and let you hear some of the awesomeness that is Wye Oak. Wye Oak wrote what became Civilian between December of 2009 and July of 2010. The songs “are, as a whole, about aloneness (the positive kind), loneliness (the horrible kind), moving on, and letting go (of people, places, and things),” lyricist/guitarist Jenn Wasner reveals. The album is out in march, look out for the review in the West and South Wales mag. Tickets to Wye Oak’s gigs with Cold War Kids available from www.seetickets.com
